Are your posts or pages sponsored by any companies?

Unless specifically mentioned in the post or page, the content is not sponsored and any brands, products, or services I mention or feature indirectly are of my own personal preference. If products or services are provided, I will clearly state somewhere in the post, page, or video something along the lines of, “Company X sent me a demo prototype to try out on this project.”

Can my company sponsor a project or a review?

Absolutely. Know, however, that I won’t ever misrepresent my experience with your product or service. If I find issues, I will report them in a constructive way that helps others to get the best experience. For example, “Product A is very sensitive to static discharge. Be sure to properly ground yourself before handling it.” Another example, “Service B can lock up if you try to make changes while saving. Be sure to wait for the save icon to disappear before doing any editing.” This is for two reasons – 1) I want any potential users of your product/service to have a good experience, and 2) I want to maintain my credibility.

For larger issues (such as dead-on-arrival units or significant bugs), I will attempt to reach out to a representative with your company for a fix prior to posting any material. As an engineer, I do recognize that occasional lemons or mistakes are made and that fixable things should not count against you.

Do you monetize your site?

I do use affiliate links to monetize my site. Per the agreement with Amazon, I do need to state the following: We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to and affiliated sites.

Do you sell anything made by you?

At the moment, no, but that may change in the future. If you would like a custom item or prototype, you are more than welcome to contact me via the contact page.

Does your site use cookies? Can I opt out?

Yes, this site does use cookies namely for security purposes (you wouldn’t believe how many attacks I get on my site daily) as well as to see what posts are most interesting to people and how they navigate the site. Your IP address and browser data along with your page visits are stored for typically less than 3 months to help me block problem IP addresses that have been creating issues or trying to harm my site.

Plugins and embedded code used on the site, such as Jetpack or YouTube videos, may collect data about you that is outside my control.

At this time, I don’t have any options on the site that would allow you to browse my site without cookies.

Do you collect any information about me? If so, what do you do with it?

For security purposes, I do collect the IP address and browser information of my visitors. This is to help me to block problem IP’s that are typically run by bots. I do not sell or share this data and it is deleted automatically after 30 days. If you post a comment, or use my contact page, the information you choose to share is kept on a mostly permanent basis.
